By Albert Ennin | ITA Airways offers special fares and seeks to fill Air France’s void | ITA Airways, located at the One Airport Square in Accra, has announced special fares for various destinations exclusively for the Ghanaian market. This initiative aims to provide passengers with the opportunity to fly with one of Europe’s modern airlines, which features one of the youngest fleets in the region. The special offer also intends to help fill the gap left by Air France’s exit from the Ghana market.
Passengers traveling from Accra, Ghana, can fly to Rome for $755, and connect to Paris for just $739, or Barcelona for $1,867.
“The exit of Air France creates an opportunity for other European carriers, such as ITA Airways, to fill the gap and benefit,” said Mr. Benjamin Owusu, CEO of Crawley Aviation Consult, in an interview with AviationGhana.
Air France has suspended its direct, three-times-a-week scheduled passenger service between Paris, France, and Ghana’s capital, Accra. AviationGhana can confirm that the airline operated its last flights to Accra’s Kotoka International Airport on October 25, 2024. Air France, a member of the Air France-KLM group, previously offered three flights per week between Paris and Accra, with a stopover in Burkina Faso.
