US Investors Eye Ghana Investment Opportunities During High-Level Trade Mission | US Investors Explore Ghana Opportunities During Trade Mission. A delegation of United States investors has engaged Ghanaian officials on investment opportunities across key sectors of the economy.
Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka led the delegation. The team held talks aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between Ghana and the United States.
The investors visited Ghana at the invitation of the Ga Mantse. The trip formed part of the activities marking the Ga State Festival. The delegation also assessed Ghana’s investment climate during the visit.
Trade Ministry Engagement
The delegation paid a courtesy call on the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry on Thursday, June 5. Deputy Minister Sampson Ahi received the group on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama and Minister Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare. He highlighted Ghana’s stable democracy and peaceful business environment. He also pointed to Ghana’s strategic location in West Africa.
Investment Opportunities Highlighted
Mr Ahi encouraged the investors to explore agribusiness, energy, and infrastructure. He said these sectors remain central to Ghana’s economic transformation agenda. He also cited the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA). He described it as a key platform for export expansion.
US Delegation Response
Mayor Ras Baraka expressed appreciation for the reception. He said the delegation aims to build stronger business partnerships with Ghana.
He also extended an invitation to Ghanaian officials. He proposed participation in a Festival and Business Summit in New York in October. The summit will bring together investors, policymakers, and business leaders.
Bilateral Outlook
Both sides emphasised stronger commercial ties. They focused on investment promotion and private-sector collaboration. The visit adds to ongoing efforts to deepen economic relations between Ghana and the United States.
