Lufthansa Group Acquires Stake in airBaltic | Lufthansa Group is enhancing its collaboration with airBaltic by making a strategic investment and extending a wet lease agreement, which will solidify the Latvian airline’s position as a key partner. This initiative aims to improve Lufthansa Group’s network flexibility and capacity while bolstering connections across its global hubs.
Under the terms of the agreement, Lufthansa Group will acquire a convertible share representing a 10% stake in airBaltic for €14 million. This investment will convert into ordinary shares upon airBaltic’s potential initial public offering (IPO), with Lufthansa Group ensuring a minimum stake of 5%, subject to market valuation.
In addition to the investment, Lufthansa Group will secure a seat on airBaltic’s Supervisory Board, enhancing its influence over the airline’s strategic direction. This move highlights Lufthansa Group’s commitment to expanding its network and developing strong partnerships in the aviation industry.
