Prof. E.Y Tweneboah-Koduah Appointed Dean of University of Ghana Business School | Accra, May 26, 2025. Professor Ernest Yaw Tweneboah-Koduah has been appointed as the new Dean of the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), marking a significant moment in the school’s history.
Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah becomes the first faculty member from the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship to assume the role of Dean, underscoring the increasing significance of the marketing discipline within the university and the broader Ghanaian academic and business landscape.
He takes over from Professor Justice Nyigmah Bawole, who successfully completed two terms and is credited with strengthening the school’s academic and administrative foundations.
An alumnus of UGBS, Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah holds a BSc in Administration and an MPhil in Marketing from the University of Ghana, and a PhD from London Metropolitan University in the UK. He has served the university for more than 18 years in various capacities—as a lecturer, administrator, and academic leader.
Prof. Tweneboah-Koduah has twice headed the Department of Marketing and Entrepreneurship, where he led major reforms that boosted the department’s research and teaching output. He has also coordinated several postgraduate programmes, including the MA Marketing Strategy and Executive MBA.
A leading scholar in social marketing and behavioural change, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles in international journals and has served on several key university committees.
Beyond academia, he is an Elder in the Church of Pentecost and serves on the Council of the Bible Society of Ghana and other corporate and educational boards.
His appointment is seen as a step forward in integrating marketing and innovation into business education and policy, positioning UGBS to respond more effectively to the needs of Ghana’s evolving economy.
