ASKY Airlines & Amadeus Empower Ghana’s Travel and Tourism Sector with High-Level Industry Training | By Dominick Andoh |
ASKY Airlines, in partnership with global travel technology leader Amadeus, has reaffirmed its commitment to driving digital transformation and knowledge sharing within Ghana’s fast-growing travel and tourism sector. The two organisations jointly hosted a high-impact training and engagement session in Accra, attracting more than 200 travel and tourism professionals from across the country.
Speaking on the sidelines of the event, Mr. Worlanyo Afadzinu, Country Manager of ASKY Airlines, emphasised the importance of continuous learning and technological adaptation in an industry he described as “very fluid and constantly evolving.”
“What we try to do is to always provide a level of knowledge for the industry because this industry is very fluid,” Mr. Afadzinu said. “At any given time, you have to be ahead of technology — and Amadeus is one of the huge organisations in our industry that provides the foundation for many of the technological systems we use.”
He noted that ASKY Airlines continues to play a major role in regional connectivity, with Accra now emerging as one of its busiest destinations.
“ASKY currently operates about 28 flights into Accra weekly — almost four flights daily — which makes it our second busiest hub after Lomé, Togo,” he said. “We now serve over 30 cities across Central and West Africa, and our network extends as far as Nairobi, Johannesburg, and Angola.”
Mr. Afadzinu highlighted that the collaboration between ASKY and Amadeus aims to empower local travel professionals with the tools and knowledge needed to adapt to digital booking trends, improve customer experience, and enhance operational efficiency.
“When you look at the two brands, Amadeus and ASKY, they are becoming the biggest travel industry brands in Ghana now,” he said. “We want to provide a lot of knowledge for all participants in this industry — this is the best way we can save cost and increase revenue.”
He further underscored the need for Ghana’s tourism sector to modernise its operations as visitor arrivals increase.
“A lot of people are coming in now, and we always need to be prepared for them. We don’t need to take them through the traditional way of booking flights or hotels. That’s why we’ve partnered with Amadeus — to provide high-level knowledge that will help the industry evolve,” he concluded.
The event forms part of ASKY Airlines and Amadeus’ broader regional initiative to strengthen travel and tourism ecosystems through technology-driven capacity building
