EgyptAir has joined Ghana’s Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) Member Benefits Programme, offering discounted international air travel to SSNIT contributors and retirees as part of a growing partnership between the pension fund and selected corporate institutions.

The collaboration positions EgyptAir among a select group of companies providing exclusive lifestyle and travel benefits to active SSNIT contributors, pensioners and their registered dependants.

Under the arrangement, eligible active SSNIT contributors will enjoy 10% discounts on international flight fares on routes operated by EgyptAir, while pensioners enjoy up to 15 percent discount on the Cairo-based airline.

According to the benefits schedule released under the programme, the discount applies to the base airfare only, excluding taxes and airport charges, and is available for travel tickets purchased and departing from Accra.

The partnership forms part of SSNIT’s broader strategy to extend value to contributors beyond retirement income by negotiating preferential rates with businesses across sectors including transport, hospitality, healthcare, retail, banking and real estate.

For EgyptAir, the collaboration provides access to one of Ghana’s largest organised customer bases while strengthening its visibility in the country’s growing outbound travel market.

The arrangement is expected to particularly benefit business travellers, families, students and tourists who regularly use EgyptAir’s extensive network through Cairo to destinations across Africa, the Middle East, Europe, Asia and North America.

Expanding value for contributors

The EgyptAir offer sits within SSNIT’s expanding Member Benefits Programme, which encourages formal sector workers to remain active contributors while enjoying immediate lifestyle benefits during their working years and into retirement.

Partnerships such as this also strengthen collaboration between Ghana’s aviation and financial sectors by making international travel more affordable for contributors.

Eligible members can access the discount upon verification of their SSNIT membership status in accordance with the programme’s terms and conditions.
