Participants in the maiden tour can expect an invigorating journey that takes them beyond the typical sightseeing experience. Beginning at the Accra Tourist Information Center, the tour promises to guide adventure seekers through a carefully curated itinerary highlighting the best of Accra’s nocturnal offerings.

One of the main attractions of “Accra by Night” is its vibrant street food scene. Participants will enjoy a variety of local delicacies from renowned night markets and food stalls. Imagine savouring spicy kebabs, waakye (rice and beans), and tasty jollof rice, all while soaking in the lively atmosphere surrounded by laughter and chatter from fellow food lovers. The tantalizing aroma of grilled fish and fufu will make it impossible to resist trying multiple dishes.

Beyond culinary delights, the tour will also showcase Accra’s rich cultural landscape. Visitors will experience live music performances featuring talented local musicians across various genres, from highlife to afro beats. Traditional dance workshops may also be part of the experience, providing participants with the opportunity to learn about Ghanaian dance styles and possibly even participate in the fun. The city’s art scene will not be neglected; artworks by local artists will be showcased at pop-up galleries, offering a platform to appreciate Ghana’s creativity while supporting local talent.

For those interested in shopping, night markets around Accra will be open, offering an array of handmade crafts, textiles, and souvenirs—perfect for taking a piece of Ghana home. Attendees are encouraged to haggle, a beloved cultural practice that enhances the shopping experience.

As part of the government’s 24-hour economy programme, “Accra by Night” aims not only to provide entertainment but also to promote local entrepreneurship by boosting night-time economies. With a nominal registration fee of GHS 250 payable via Momo or cash, this innovative tour promises to be a memorable introduction to the best of Accra after dark.
