The innovations are designed to streamline airline distribution, enhance passenger connectivity, and modernize commercial operations across the industry.

DerbySoft Launches Global Data Network (GDN)

Travel technology giant DerbySoft announced the launch of its Global Data Network (GDN) — a decentralized, API-first distribution model designed to move airline retailing away from legacy systems. AirAsia Group will become the first airline to adopt the new model.

“The GDN will enable airlines to manage distribution more efficiently, cut costs, and innovate faster,” DerbySoft said. The platform’s decentralized architecture aims to reduce dependency on traditional Global Distribution Systems (GDS), giving airlines greater control and flexibility.

Digital Connectivity and Retailing Take Flight

Connectivity provider eSIM GO introduced the Breeze Global Travel Pass, a mobile data solution that integrates with airline loyalty programs. The new product will allow passengers to stay connected globally while helping airlines drive engagement and ancillary sales.

Meanwhile, airline software leader Accelya announced a multi-year collaboration with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to deliver cloud-based airline retailing systems. The partnership aims to power the industry’s transition toward Offer-Order-Settle-Deliver (OOSD) — IATA’s next-generation retailing framework.

A New Era of Smart Aviation

Industry analysts at the Festival said the announcements mark a major step toward modern airline retailing. “We’re seeing airlines move beyond talking about digital transformation — they’re executing it,” one panelist noted.

With 4,500 delegates, 600 speakers, and 400 tech exhibitors, the World Aviation Festival 2025 has reinforced its position as the global hub for aviation technology and innovation — shaping the digital future of air travel.
