ASKY makes foray into North Africa with launch of Nouakchott flights | AviationGhana | ASKY Airlines has officially launched new flights to Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, marking its first venture into North East Africa.
Mauritania has become the Pan-African airline’s 30th destination, with more destinations planned for future expansion.
Flights operate from Lomé on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, and from Nouakchott on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
The inaugural flight departed Lomé International Airport last Saturday, 2 August 2025, at 13:30, with a stopover in Conakry. It landed in Nouakchott at 18:13, where the delegation led by ASKY’s CEO, Mr. Esayas Hailu, received a warm welcome from Mauritanian authorities.

This new route further strengthens Lomé’s role as a strategic hub for intra-African connectivity, significantly reducing travel times across West, Central, and Southern Africa.
Passengers can now easily connect Nouakchott to cities such as Nairobi, Luanda, Brazzaville, Johannesburg, Cotonou, Libreville, Niamey, and many others, three times a week.
In his remarks in Lomé, Mr. Esayas HAILU thanked ASKY’s passengers for their continued trust and shared the company’s ambition to expand further with future routes to Beirut, Madrid, Paris, and beyond. He also acknowledged the Togolese authorities for their investment in the ongoing expansion of airport infrastructure.
With this new destination, ASKY reaffirms its commitment to connecting Africa to itself and the world, providing reliable, safe, and customer-oriented service.
