The President of the Airport Operators Committee (AOC), Madam Silvia Baah, has called for deeper collaboration between policymakers and industry operators to accelerate growth Ghana’s aviation sector.

Delivering an address at the just-ended 5th AviationGhana Breakfast Meeting in Accra, Madam Baah stressed that sustained dialogue between regulators, airport operators, airlines and tourism stakeholders remains essential to building a competitive and resilient aviation industry capable of supporting national economic transformation.

She described the gathering as a critical platform for fostering cooperation across the sector, noting that alignment between policy direction and operational realities would be key to unlocking Ghana’s aviation potential.

“This gathering is vital for fostering collaboration between operators and policymakers, ensuring that our aviation sector thrives,” she said, adding that open engagement among stakeholders provides opportunities to address persistent challenges while also driving innovation.

Madam Baah commended AviationGhana, West Africa’s only aviation-focused daily e-Newspaper and online portal, for convening the platform consistently since 2017, saying the initiative had played an important role in strengthening industry cohesion and advancing dialogue on aviation development priorities in Ghana.

“I commend AviationGhana for their unwavering commitment to facilitating these interactions since 2017, paving the way for progress and unity in our industry,” she noted.

The 5th AviationGhana Breakfast Meeting brought together regulators, airline executives, airport operators, travel consultants, and tourism leaders to deliberate on policy direction, connectivity, infrastructure development and sustainable growth strategies for Ghana’s aviation sector.

Industry stakeholders have increasingly emphasised the importance of coordinated action to position Ghana as a competitive aviation hub within West Africa, particularly amid growing passenger demand and renewed government focus on aviation-led economic expansion.

Madam Baah expressed optimism that strengthened partnerships across the industry would help deliver a more dynamic aviation ecosystem capable of supporting trade, tourism and regional integration objectives.

“Together, we can achieve our shared vision for a more robust and dynamic aviation landscape in Ghana,” she said.

The AviationGhana Breakfast Meeting is an annual industry forum organised by AviationGhana.com to promote engagement between public and private sector actors, identify sector challenges, and develop collaborative solutions to advance Ghana’s aviation and tourism sectors. The 2026 edition was held in Accra with participation from key stakeholders across the aviation value chain.
