Century Aviation Confirms Ho Airport Service Plans | By Dominick Andoh | Ghana’s domestic aviation market is set for a boost as Century Aviation prepares to launch scheduled passenger services to the Ho Airport in the Volta Region using a brand-new 19-seater Cessna SkyCourier.
The aircraft, manufactured by Cessna and marketed in Ghana by Textron Aviation, was displayed at the 3AMS-CELMS’ Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility at the Air Force base next to the Kotoka International Airport before completing a successful demonsthttps://royalblue-chimpanzee-629613.hostingersite.comration flight from Accra to Ho Airport.

The showcase highlighted the SkyCourier’s agility, stability, and high-performance features, underscoring its potential to open up new regional routes and enhance connectivity within Ghana.
Madam Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, noted that the planned start of flights to the Ho Airport will open up the area for tourism, attracting many visitors and potential tourism-sector investors.
The Vice President of Africair, Inc., the representative for Cessna, Robert Prentice, told AviationGhana that the SkyCourier is designed to deliver efficiency, reliability, and comfort on short-haul routes. With its twin-engine configuration, spacious cabin, and ability to operate on shorter runways, the aircraft is well-suited for domestic operations such as the Accra–Ho route, where demand is expected to grow steadily.
The planned entry of Century Aviation onto this route comes at a time when stakeholders are pushing to unlock the full potential of the Ho Airport.
Since its completion in September 2015, the airport has not seen sustained scheduled passenger services. The arrival of the SkyCourier could mark a turning point by offering a cost-effective and reliable service tailored to the needs of business and leisure travellers alike.
Madam Dorcas Affo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro and the Deputy Minister of Transport, was optimistic that the proposed new service would help grow Ghana’s aviation sector and open up other parts of the country.
If approved by the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA), PH Century Aviation will become the first operator to base scheduled passenger services at the Ho Airport, creating more travel options for residents of the Volta Region and beyond.
