By Dominick Andoh | Ghana: New Domestic Airline Secures Air Carrier License from CAA | In a significant development for the Ghanaian aviation sector, PANAF AIR has officially received its Air Carrier License (ACL) from the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA).
This milestone marks the airline’s commitment to contributing to the growth of both domestic and regional air travel within West Africa.
Ing. Charles Kraikue, Director General of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority ( GCAA) confirmed this to AviationGhana. As the airline gears up for the second regulatory requirement of an Air Operator Certificate (AOC) before takeoff, stakeholders are hopeful that it will create a ripple effect in the aviation supply chain, benefiting ancillary businesses such as hotels, tourism operators, and transportation services.
As PANAF AIR finalises its licensing and operational procedures and prepares for launch, the anticipation among travel enthusiasts and industry players continues to build. There are currently two main domestic airline operators, Africa World Airlines ( AWA) and Passion Air, servicing the Kumasi, Tamale, Wa, Takoradi, and Sunyani airports. AWA also operates regional flights to Lagos and Abuja in Nigeria.
