New Airline to operate Ghana-China flights

A new airline, which is expected to start servicing Accra’s Kotoka International Airport from January 28, 2026, is expected to provide more flying options from Accra to China, the UAE, South Africa and India.

Air Tanzania is set to operate its maiden flight to Accra via Lagos using an Airbus A220 and thereafter switch to the use of Boeing 737 for its scheduled 3x per week passenger service.

Air Tanzania will operate flights on the Dar es Salaam–Lagos–Accra– Dar es Salaam route three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with connection in its hub to Capetown Johannesburg, Guangzhou, Dubai , and Mumbai.

Air Tanzania flights are expected to arrive in Accra at 5:00 p.m. and depart at 6:00 p.m. local time.

Air Tanzania becomes the 26th international airline to serve Ghana’s main aviation hub.
