PassionAir slashes ticket prices by 10% | By Dominick Andoh| PassionAir has announced a reduction of up to 10% in airfares across all its domestic routes (Kumasi, Tamale, Wa, Sunyani, and Takoradi).
The company, in a statement copied to AviationGhana, said the fare adjustment comes in response to the recent strengthening of the Cedi (GHS) against major foreign currencies and the need to pass on the savings to consumers.
According to the latest data from the Bank of Ghana, the Ghanaian cedi has seen notable appreciation, gaining 24.1% against the US dollar, 16.2% against the British pound, and 14.1% against the euro.
The May 2025 Summary of Economic and Financial Data indicates that the cedi is currently valued at approximately GH₵11.85 per dollar, GH₵15.84 per British pound, and GH₵13.34 per euro.
“At PassionAir, we are committed to ensuring our valued customers benefit directly from positive market developments. As the domestic aviation landscape evolves, we remain focused on offering competitive fares’ that reflect these changes.
While maintaining our commitment to the safety and comfort of our passengers, we continue to prioritize making domestic air travel more accessible and affordable for all,” the company noted.
