TAP Portugal reaffirms its commitment to the Ghana Market | By David Kwakutse
Accra, Ghana — TAP Air Portugal has reaffirmed its commitment to the Ghanaian travel trade with a special stakeholders’ meeting held at the Africa Regent Hotel in Accra.
The event brought together more than twenty of the airline’s top-selling travel agencies for an evening of appreciation, dialogue, and product updates.
The meeting, hosted by Mr. Edwin Lawson, TAP Air Portugal’s Country Sales Manager, served as both a networking opportunity and a platform to strengthen collaboration with the travel trade community that continues to drive the airline’s success in Ghana.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Lawson expressed TAP’s gratitude to travel partners for their unwavering support over the years. “Our travel agency partners remain the backbone of our operations in Ghana. This meeting is our way of saying thank you and reaffirming that TAP deeply values your contribution to our growth,” he said.

The highlight of the session was a presentation on TAP’s popular stopover programme, which allows passengers to spend up to five nights in Lisbon or Porto at no additional airfare cost. The package, one of the airline’s most successful innovations, gives travellers the opportunity to explore Portugal’s rich culture and cuisine en route to their final destinations in Europe or the Americas.
Mr. Lawson emphasised that the stopover product resonates strongly with African travellers, adding: “We want more Ghanaians to take advantage of this unique experience, to discover Portugal while travelling to other destinations. It’s part of the added value we strive to offer.”
The interactive session also allowed travel consultants to share feedback on booking processes, pricing structures, and operational challenges. TAP’s management team responded to concerns and assured agents of continued support to streamline sales and service delivery.

To close the evenr, the airline held a raffle draw to reward participants. The grand prize, a return economy-class ticket to any TAP destination, was won by Ms. Doris Dodoo of Josh Travels, who expressed her excitement and appreciation to the airline.
The successful engagement reaffirmed TAP Air Portugal’s strong relationship with Ghana’s travel trade and its ongoing commitment to providing quality service, flexibility, and rewarding partnerships in the market.
