United Nigeria Airlines has officially announced the launch of its maiden international service between Abuja, Nigeria, and Accra, Ghana, marking a major milestone in the airline’s growth journey and the strengthening of air connectivity across West Africa.

The inaugural flight NUA 0590, scheduled for Monday, November 10, 2025, will depart the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, at 10:35 a.m., arriving at Kotoka International Airport, Accra, later that morning. This new service signifies the first capital-to-capital direct flight operated by a Nigerian carrier between the two major West African cities.

In a statement, the airline described the event as “a historic operation that underscores United Nigeria Airlines’ vision of fostering stronger regional integration, enhancing trade and tourism, and promoting cultural exchange across West Africa.”

The new Accra service also marks United Nigeria Airlines’ (UNA) first international route since it began commercial operations in February 2021. The airline, which has grown rapidly within Nigeria’s domestic aviation market, now takes a decisive step toward expanding its presence across the continent.

“This inaugural regional flight is not merely a business expansion; it is a bridge between nations,” the airline said. “United Nigeria Airlines is proud to play a role in deepening economic, social, and cultural ties within West Africa.”

The carrier added that the Accra route represents a “natural progression” of its founding mission to connect communities and economies across Africa. Its corporate slogan, “Flying to Unite,” will take on new meaning as the airline begins cross-border operations.

The Abuja–Accra route holds significant promise, given the high volume of business, government, and leisure traffic between Ghana and Nigeria, two of the region’s largest economies. The entry of a new Nigerian operator is expected to increase competition, improve connectivity, and offer passengers more options and flexibility.

United Nigeria Airlines emphasized that its focus remains on providing safe, reliable, and world-class service, adding that the new route forms part of a broader regional expansion plan that will eventually link multiple West African capitals.

With the inaugural flight, United Nigeria Airlines joins other African carriers deepening regional integration through enhanced air services, reinforcing West Africa’s role as a hub for trade, investment, and tourism.
