VFS Global Opens Expanded Visa Centre in Lekki | VFS Global has opened a larger Joint Visa Application Centre (JVAC) in Lekki, Lagos, as outbound international travel from Nigeria continues to remain resilient despite global economic uncertainties.
The new facility, located at Purple Mall in Lekki Phase 1, is designed to enhance visa processing capacity and customer experience for travellers applying to 15 participating countries from a single, centralised location. Operational since 2 March 2026, the centre provides visa application services for destinations including Canada, Australia, China, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, Portugal, South Africa and several Schengen countries.
According to VFS Global, visa application volumes processed in Nigeria during the first half of 2026 remained at the same level as the corresponding period in 2025, following a remarkable 51% year-on-year increase in applications during 2025 compared with 2024. The UK, Canada and China continue to be among the most sought-after destinations, while Australia, Ireland, Sweden and Portugal are also recording healthy growth in demand.
Commenting on the expansion, Prashant Kansara, Regional Head for Central & West Africa at VFS Global, said the relocation reflects the company’s commitment to meeting Nigeria’s growing demand for international travel.
“The relocation of our Joint Visa Application Centre to a more spacious and convenient location in Lekki, Lagos is a testament to our ability to cater effectively to the growing demand for outbound travel and visa services from Nigeria. The new centre offers enhanced capacity and a superior customer experience while maintaining the highest standards of service and security,” he said.
Enhanced Customer Experience and Security
The new application centre features five Premium Lounge facilities for selected destinations, enhanced security systems, ample parking and professionally trained staff to improve the overall applicant experience. VFS Global also urged travellers to submit visa applications well in advance of their intended travel dates and to use only its official channels for appointments, warning that no third party can guarantee faster processing or visa approvals.
Since commencing operations in Nigeria in 2007, VFS Global has expanded its footprint to 39 application centres across six cities, serving 22 client governments with visa, passport and consular services. The company also plans to open additional centres in Benin and Kaduna as it continues to strengthen its presence in one of Africa’s largest outbound travel markets.
