DVLA Ultra Centre Brings Services to Abbosey Okai Area | By Patrick Acheampong | The Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), in partnership with Bridge Direct and VFS Global, offers residents of Abbosey Okai, Laterbiokorshie, Kaneshie and surrounding areas a premium and streamlined experience for accessing vehicle and driver-related services.
The Ultra Centre for Licensing and Vehicle Registration located on the Ring Road West, adjacent STC Head office in Accra, was opened in July 2024. The state-of-the-art facility is designed to deliver a faster and more convenient service to customers. It offers a comfortable environment and is equipped to handle high volumes of applications across various DVLA services, including licence renewals, vehicle registration, and international permits.
Foster Akwasi Asante, Esq., Deputy Chief Executive of DVLA, during a media visit to the facility, said the facility aligns with the Authority’s broader vision of decentralising services and bringing them closer to the public.
“The operation of Ultra Centres by DVLA in partnership with the private sector falls within our vision of bringing world-class services closer to the people,” he said. “We aim to ensure every driver is properly certified and encourage the public to use our offices, including the Ultra Centre, for their licensing needs.”
On his part, Mr. Alok Singhal, Head of Sub-Saharan Africa at VFS Global, also expressed confidence in the Centre’s ability to enhance public service delivery: “With the Ultra Centre in Accra, we are confident of providing applicants with a world-class experience. This centre is built on VFS Global’s global capabilities in delivering scalable, transparent citizen services.”
The initiative marks a significant step in public-private collaboration aimed at modernizing service delivery in Ghana’s transport sector. The Ultra Centre is expected to play a key role in improving efficiency, transparency, and access to essential licensing and vehicle registration services.
