The company acknowledged that the licence revocation may raise concerns among users, merchants, agents and business partners. However, it appealed for patience and cooperation as it works through the next steps with the regulator.

“We recognise the concerns that this development may cause and sincerely appreciate the patience, understanding and continued cooperation of our customers, employees, agents, merchants, partners and the wider public during this period,” the company stated.

Furthermore, Zeepay reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining open communication throughout the process. It said it will continue to engage constructively with the Bank of Ghana and other stakeholders to achieve an orderly resolution.

In addition, the company assured customers that only verified information would be shared through its official communication channels as developments unfold.
The licence revocation comes as the Bank of Ghana continues to strengthen oversight of electronic money issuers. In recent months, the central bank has intensified regulatory supervision to improve compliance, strengthen consumer protection and enhance confidence in Ghana’s digital financial services sector.
Although the regulator withdrew Zeepay’s electronic money licence, the company says it remains committed to working with the regulator to ensure a responsible transition while keeping stakeholders informed of any further developments.
